Mitchelton Football Club

‍The Mitchelton Football Club caters to aspiring and professional individuals with a burning passion for soccer. The club is located in Everton Park, Brisbane’s inner-northwest suburb. Mitchelton FC is a family-based football club founded in 1920 and is considered to be second to the oldest football registered club registered in Brisbane. The club recorded to have 90 teams with roughly 1125 playing members back in 2014. Mitchie caters to kids aged 4 and above to adults 60 years old and below. The vicinity has 13 vast fields surrounded by Teralba Park’s picturesque view. There are also designated car parks near the clubhouse that players and visitors can use while overflow carparks are situated between fields 7 and 8 and Kedron Brook. Along Osborne Road is the club’s main entrance where you’ll see the first field which is situated near Teralba Park Playground. Aside from the clubhouse’s canteen, there are also cafes and restaurants like Sushi Izu, Kab Kao Thai, Grill’d, and Noodle Box that you can visit.

If you’re planning to take public transportation, there are several bus and transit stations near Mitchelton FC. Note that all stations are still a few minutes drive or walk away from the club. Walking from the bus stop is welcome if you wish to warm up as it’ll take a couple of minutes to an hour before reaching the club, depending on which station you’ll get off from. For instance, if you’re getting off Stop 52, Osborne Road near Northmore Street, you can have a look around the area and check out other places to visit along the way like the Pullen Road Park. From the club, there are also other attractions and sports centre that you can visit. For example, the Everton Fenced Agility Dog Park is a perfect place to visit if you’re an animal lover – you’ll definitely get your daily dose of cuteness as there are tons of cute dogs walking and playing there daily. For sports fanatics who, on top of soccer, also love (or at least want to watch or try) rugby, Frank Lind Oval is just about 30 minutes away if you plan on walking instead of driving. Public transportation’s available too but you’ll have to consider the transit schedule too. Other popular places to consider could be Alderley Day & Night Tennis Court, 9 Degrees Bouldering Gym, Keperra Country Golf Club, Grange Forest Park, Brisbane Tramway Museum, and The Woods Bar.

Mitchy’s facilities are well-maintained and improves continously over the years. On hot days, all you have to bring is your cheering spirit (for visitors) and fighting spirit (for players), sunscreen protection and hats, and the rest are all available in the club. There are different selections of food and beverages available so keeping yourself hydrated and energised all throughout the game is a breeze. Aside from the excellent field and other facilities, the staff are friendly too so you’ll feel right at home at Mitchelton Football Club.
