Minnippi Parkland Meadowlands Road

Located near Meadowlands Road at Carindale is the Minnippi Parklands which offers plenty of activities for families. Instead of staying at home, toddlers can make friends and play at the Meadowlands Picnic Ground Park’s unfenced playground situated in the southern part of the area. Children can have fun going from one playground equipment to another like the swings, slides, and rockers. There are separate swings for infants and older kids. The playground’s supported by a bark and rubber base including the area with swings to protect kids just in case. The playground is sheltered by the trees nearby so there’s plenty of natural shade for when you visit the playground on a hot day. There are also sheltered and unsheltered picnic tables around that parents/guardians can sit on while watching the little ones play around. You can also go for a nice walk at the nearby creek found on the northern side of the park and take photos as much as you want. You may even find yourself fascinated by wildlife present in the area like the ducks swimming around and doing silly things occasionally. Kids often sit by the deck to watch the ducks and birds all day long. There are several paths that you can take if you want to look around the Parklands. Those who navigate in a wheelchair can explore too but keep in mind that there are some rocky paths that may be hard to get by if you’re planning to take the trails too. Another good thing about this park is its cycling and hiking trail so visitors can also bring their bike or scooter and go on a ride at Bulimba Creek Bikeway leading to Carindale shopping centre. Basketball halfcourts and mini skateboard bowl are also available in the park so kids and teens can play active sports there as well. You can also bring your dog with you since the park is pet-friendly and have a dog off-leash area.

You can bring your own car when going to Minnippi Parkland as carpark is available in the park on Meadowlands Road. If you’re planning to take public transport, the nearest ones are Cadogan Street at Rolls Court, Baynes Street near Sherborne Street, Meadowlands Road at Epala Street and Wright Street, and Creek Road at Carina Bus Depot.

Minnippi Parkland is available in different locations. You can find one in Cannon Hill, Carina and Carindale, Fursden Road Park, Preston Road Park, and Wood Avenue Park. Among all parks that make up Minnipi Parkland, the one with better facilities is Preston Road, Carina as they have a drone launching area, have both wood and electric barbecues, and sporting fields. On top of that, the park also has a community facility used by the South Brisbane Softball Association.
